The Military Industrial Complex and Ukraine

Gabbard mentions early in the section that whenever the United States goes to war or even threatens war, it generates a lot of money. She mentions how the cozy relationships between politicians and defense contractors often allocates more funds than the military is asking for to get more money exchanged into the hands of the contractors. She does mention it is also money to keep the military up to date that the pentagon asks for.

It is important to note that in an era where our politicians can't agree on anything and are very far apart on many issues, Republicans and Democrats are both join in supporting the military industrial complex.

Gabbard discusses how the government and media fearmonger into believing there is always an imminent threat so that the money can keep being pumped into conflict instead of asking if it would help the American people more at home.

We are currently fighting a proxy war against Russia as she mentions currently with the ongoing situation in Ukraine. She comments that it is one of the most dangerous positions the US and the world has been in as it relates to nuclear and full scale war. Gabbard also says it is currently on a path to keep funding for the military complex and major war while the politicians and those profiting from the conflict have bunkers and shelters prepared, but the people do not. (Many Youtube videos on these bunkers as of late.) When the Hawaiian alarms went off in error for incoming missiles and to take shelter, the people found out there was no shelter to take. All the while, government entities are broadcasting what to do under nuclear attack as a PSA.

Tulsi Gabbard ends this part mentioning only a small spark could ignite a world war and even though Biden calls it "Putin's War," she lays blame on him as well in continuing the era of military conflict for profit. The people need to stand against the fear and war.
