The Sam Altman Effect (Open AI)

Image
Sam Altman OpenAI CEO Discusses A.I. Changing Society     Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, a leading Artificial Intelligence company, opens mentioning change has always happened in society and although great things WILL come from AI, we must consider what will go away and that AI will not be ALL good.      Altman mentions how human innovation from the first tools have been on a line to become what it is today with technology and the birth of real AI.      Altman believes abundant and cheap intelligence and energy will revolutionize the world like never before.     Joe asks Altman about jobs that AI will replace like factory lines, driving, etc. and what can be done to mitigate that loss in the job market.     Altman replies that he first thought AI would take blue collar labor jobs and then cognitive labor and "thinking" jobs, then he thought it would come for the creative job. Now, he believes AI may take creative jobs first, ...

The Elon Musk Effect Part One

Image
Elon Musk On Buying Twitter and Creating X Wired.com Image         Joe begins this clip asking Elon Musk if he ever wakes up and wishes he didn't buy Twitter. Musk responds that it was going to be a recipe for trouble.      Rogan then asks what led Musk to the decision to buy Twitter.      At the risk of sounding dramatic, Musk believes Twitter was having a corrosive effect on the human population- a bad impact. He mentions a fundamental problem being that Twitter HQ was in San Francisco which was a "zombie town." He says the philosophies they were piping on Twitter led to the disaster outside of their own front door.      He thinks the fallout from these bad philosophies used to be limited to the area they were from, but with Twitter these bad philosophies were being broadcast around the world. It became an information "mind virus" weapon for one side. Musk says the mind virus is obvious and exploded in San Francis...

The Mike Baker Effect

Image
CIA OPERATOR MIKE BAKER on the Israel-Gaza War     Former CIA Officer and Operator Mike Baker discusses the start of the most recent eruption between Israel and Gaza. He mentions that October 7th was a pretty big failure by Israel to not be able to defend against the attack.      Baker mentions how Hamas in Gaza had sophisticated operational logistics and security provided largely by the infamous underground tunnels. He notes these tunnels built for terror by Hamas were funded with money that was meant to build schools and hospitals and the like and Hamas took it for terror. The tunnels and secrecy worked very well. Hamas also convinced Israel that they were going to stop their attacks and Israel grew complacent in their security.      Rogan brings up the conspiracy that Israel let the attack happen so that they would have a reason to go full scale against Hamas. Baker says he understands where the logic comes from with that theory but he d...

Joe Rogan Tidbit Corporate Trolls

Image
Rogan and Hinchcliffe  on corporate trolls     This short clip mentions how billion dollar corporations are spending big money to basically sew misinformation on social sites. Upwards of 15% of posting could be corporate trolls. It has been happening and even educated people are falling for these very intelligent propaganda posts, especially on Reddit.      Rogan thinks it is a form of fraud. He thinks every account should prove it is a person and not a troll or bot, but that is also dangerous due to security and being tracked.      He thinks they can possibly shift public opinion and truth. .     Joe mentions as he often does about how he checks weird divisive comments and profiles and they always turn out to be obvious bots or trolls with fake profiles.

The Brett Weinstein Effect

Image
Brett Weinstein and the Migrant Crisis Brett Weinstein is an author, podcaster, political commentator and former Professor of Evergreen University, leading him into political rhetoric after a controversy at the school. His political background is left, but now center leaning, considered right leaning by those on the left.      In this clip, Joe comes in hot with a claim that due to the illegal immigration issue and funds going to illegal immigrants instead of them, the left has lost a lot of the black community support. He also mentions how other liberals have said the only solution to the border is Donald Trump.      Weinstein is not a supporter of Trump and begins by saying Trump needs to build a team but he is a "one man show." He says though, that if Bobby Kennedy cannot be elected, something has to be done about the "cabal" that is currently running the White House. He says they proved they do not care about Americans during the Covid situation ...

Joe Rogan Tidbit Vibing

Image
Joe Rogan Just Vibing     Mostly for your entertainment, here is Joe and guests just being silly and dancing.     It is fun on the surface and although it seems like people and guests just Having Fun , it is also an example for the Mass Media course as to another reason why MSM and legacy news short interview formats are giving viewership away to podcasts and long form interviews. You don't see this with stiff, angry anchors and talking heads.

The RFKJ Effect Part One

Robert Kennedy, Jr. On JFK and the Military Industrial Complex                                                                             Rolling Stone Photo     This clip starts with former Democratic and current Independent presidential nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on "The Joe Rogan Experience"  discussing his uncle John F. Kennedy and how although he was surrounded by the military industrial complex (MIC), he "refused to go to war."      He states that (as it is his belief) the purpose of the CIA and other intelligence organizations is to perpetuate the threat of war or engagement of conflict in order to power the MIC.      One very intriguing part come...

Joe Rogan Tidbit Google Ad Policy

Image
New Google Ad Policy Recently Joe Rogan brought up a new Google policy meant for advertising that could control what is posted based on " sensitivity " of current and past events.  This means Google can take down ads and demonitize companies if they feel like it is sensitive to events such as politics, weather, natural events and terrorism.  In the verbatim reading, sensitivity is subjective to what Google feels.  This could include facts on war and conflict, videos of effects of certain laws or platforms, partisan advertising, support for aid for a country,  and the fallout of natural disasters versus media portrayal.  The potential exists for Google and YouTube to ban ads and videos for certain politcal parties, certain political platforms, religions and churches, companies that sell certain products (firearms) and individuals or podcasts that have certain guests and ad reads.  Joe was not with it. The policy took effect in February.

The Tulsi Gabbard Effect Pt. 2

Image
The Tulsi Gabbard Effect Part 2 The Military Industrial Complex and Ukraine     Gabbard mentions early in the section that whenever the United States goes to war or even threatens war, it generates a lot of money. She mentions how the cozy relationships between politicians and defense contractors often allocates more funds than the military is asking for to get more money exchanged into the hands of the contractors. She does mention it is also money to keep the military up to date that the pentagon asks for.      It is important to note that in an era where our politicians can't agree on anything and are very far apart on many issues, Republicans and Democrats are both join in supporting the military industrial complex.     Gabbard discusses how the government and media fearmonger into believing there is always an imminent threat so that the money can keep being pumped into conflict instead of  asking if it would help the American peopl...
