The Coleman Hughes Effect
Journalist Coleman Hughes
And His Viral Argument on "The View"
Writer and SubStack journalist Coleman Hughes was recently on the Joe Rogan podcast. Hughes was subject to a viral online video when he had an interview on "The View" and the hosts questioned and attacker some of his beliefs.
Hughes mentions, he did not expect to be ambushed the way he was on the show because he had never really paid much attention to the show.
Rogan then mentions that it is the show everyone loves to hate and they get many viral clips from people that hate them as opposed to like them. Rogan compares the show to a rabies infested hen house.
Hughes then mentions the audience seemed to be on his side and Rogan says they probably have a paid audience, not real fans.
No fact check was done on this point, they usually do live tracking fact checking on the show.
Rogan believes the hosts are a mix of dull minded personalities and intelligent people that are captured by leftist ideologies.
They both say they do everything with an agenda.
Hughes then mentioned how the hosts wanted to paint him as captured by the Right Wing.
He assumes they lied about reading his book because they were wrong about what was in it according to him, the author.
Joe questions if they read the book as well.
Then they poke a little fun at Ben Shapiro.
Rogan days it is a fun time for watching people in the media "flail."
Rogan mentions the show is ideologically captured again and even says they bring Conservative hosts in just to ambush and attack such as with Megan McCain.
Hughes says he had 8 minutes to argue his point on race relations with the hosts.
He wants to get passed race related politics and focus on needs as people.
Rogan then mentions that's all the DEI programs care about. Rogan says it doesn't help race relations, it just gives government and companies more control.
Hughes says a host called him a charlatan and right wing co-opted. She says the black community thinks this.
He has only voted for Democrats, that is the problem with her entire argument.
Rogan says it is a dumb way to approach a subject, by name calling just because what he says isn't what the hosts feel.
Rogan says he is one of the least co-opted people he knows and one of the most objective.
Hughes makes rhe note even if he was co-opted, he still wouldn't be wrong. They only wanted to try and demean his character to win their argument.
